Wilbraham Police locate missing 15 and 11-year-olds

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Wilbraham Police have located two minors last seen walking with their two dogs Tuesday evening.

Police said that they started searching for a 15-year-old female and 11-year-old male after they were last seen by their neighbor walking in an unknown direction around 5 pm

School officials later identified them in an email sent to parents as Joshua and Abigail Branham.

Wilbraham Police, in assistance with East Longmeadow and Mass. State Police officers, set up command at Wilbraham Middle School on Stony Hill Road while they conducted the search of the wooded area.

The search wrapped up just after 10 pm Police said that they had been reported missing by their parents around 8 pm Tuesday evening after they left around 5 pm to walk their dogs and did not come home.

Wilbraham emergency officials told us that after receiving a 9-1-1 call, the two were found just after 9:30 pm in the woods off of Harness Drive.

They said that this was a joint investigation that led to a successful ending, with officials from the Mass. State Police, FBI, and several local agencies getting involved.

Police said that the children were evaluated by paramedics and are not injured.

No foul play is suspected and crew believe the kids just got lost. The children’s dogs were found, as well.

Several civilian volunteers came to help with the search, but were turned away. However, police thank all agencies and residents who assisted them in locating both Abigail and Joshua.
