Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Program 2024/2025

Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) program in Collaboration with Africa Development Bank (AFDB) is invited an applications from interested and qualified Candidates wishes to study abroad. JADS program has commenced from September, 2024 and ends September, 2025.

This Japan Africa Dream scholarship is open to candidates from African Development Bank (AFDB) member countries with talent, Excellent academic performance and relevant professional experience. This Scholarship is focuses for supporti African students.

Candidates to be considering for this Japan Africa Dream Scholarship Program must apply to African Partner University (APU). APU is responsible for select the qualified Candidates and recommend them to the scholarship board.

Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Program Eligibility Criteria

Candidates to be qualified for Japan Africa Dream Scholarship )JADS) Program must have fullfill the following criterias:

  • Candidates must have gained a minimum of Bachelor Degree and or any equivalent in agriculture, health environmental sustainability, Engineering studies, energy and or any related fields.
  • Candidates must have an excellent academic records ( i.e academic transcript, working experiences, and the achievements).
  • Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) of paid employment in their origin country an d or in or any other African countries after gained their bachelor degrees and or Equivalent with the at past of three (3) years.
  • Applicants should be 22- 35 years old with Physically and mentally fit (good health).
  • Applicants should have secured admission to any one of the approved masters degree courses at a Japanese and or African partner University (APU).
  • Applicants should enrolled for Postgraduate programs, undergraduate program would not be qualified for this JADS Program.
  • Applicants must be citizen of any one of the African development banks (ADB) Countries.

JADS Program Application Procedures

The application procedures for the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship progrm highlights the Application process below:

  • Applicants should completed their online application form and submits application seeking for admission into the approved universities for this Japan Africa Dream Scholarship program.
  • The University Management should evaluates and choose the candidates and offer them a conditional offer letter of admission.
  • After the University evaluates and choose the candidates and offer them a conditional offer letter of admission. The University will sends a compiled List of applicants to the Africa development bank and the bank move to shares the compiled with Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) program to the unit called PIU (program implementation unit) to evaluate the All the applications submitted by the interested Candidates. The program implementation unit will select the qualified Candidates based on set eligibility.
  • Once the Program implementation unit is completed the evaluation of applications , the Africa development bank ( ADB) would Invites for the successfully candidates and notice the universities.

JADS Program Selection Process

All applications submitted by the interested applicants will be evaluated by the program implementation unit hired by the AFDB and the final applications selection is approved by the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Board.

The Applications evaluation is merely on the educational and academic excellent.the selection process such includes Geographical diversity, Gender equality, Equity and inclusiveness, financial status and the special consideration.

The African Development Bank (AFDB) Management will approved the applications and make a decision of the final selection of the qualified Candidates. The finalist will take into account of the following:

  • Geographical diversity: the AFDB by taking into consideration of geographical diversity of the qualified Candidates.
  • Gender balance: AFDB will selects the applications by maintaining their gender type ( all gender is giving priority for the selection process.
  • Equity and inclusiveness: AFDB will selects the applications by taking into account of hardship, unusual situations when assessing the employment experience, excellent and other.
  • Financial Status: AFDB will ensure that that candidates are financially constraints.
  • Special Account: AFDB will be given to any candidates with special needs.

NB:

  • The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship will only cover the duration of the graduate program and or two years.
  • The Application Deadline is September 16, 2024 for the enrollment in April 2025 or 10 January, 2025 for the enrollment in September, 2025
  • The List of Universities will be Fully completed once Bank meets the final agreement with the universities.
  • All Applications submitted by the interested Candidates should go through the Africa partner Universities no single applications submitted but the interested Candidates to the Africa Development Bank (AFDB) when necessary. Only candidates who have offer provisional letter of admission and signed by the university will be look forward fo the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) program. Candidates offer admission by the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship partner university, its not indicates that the candidate have been qualified for the scholarship, otherwise, until the candidate have been notified by the Africa Development Bank (AFDB) that he/or she have bern granted for the Scholarship.
